It seems the iPhone 5‘s future release is getting a bit blurry for a moment as reports surfaces that two new models of iPad might hit the shelves next year instead of the most anticipated next generation of iPhone.
DigiTimes’ report claims that people in the upstream supply chain have said that Apple is to release two version iPad next year. The first version might feature a small bump on specs and be tagged as iPad 2S. Meanwhile the other one is the read deal iPad 3 that is targeted to be launched until Q3 of 2012 at the earliest.
According to DigiTimes report:
Apple’s new generation iPad will enter mass production soon with the launch set for March 2012, according to sources from the upstream supply chain; however, the sources revealed that internally Apple does not view the new iPad product as iPad 3, but rather an upgraded iPad 2 and the real iPad 3 will not be launched until the third quarter of 2012 at the earliest.
iPad 2S will feature much thinner and faster processor compared current version, most importantly another rumor to add up was the iPad 3 will be featuring a quad-core processor that will be incorporated in an Apple A6 chipset.
More on this as iPad 3 saga progresses, however, at this point you may take this with a grain of salt.
