Hide a Disk Drive form the computer

Hye Friends,
Think that you have important documents and you are very afraid about their privacy so now you don’t need to be worried about it because windows provides (not officially) a utility through which you can hide your PC’s one or more drives.

• Go to Start > run > type diskpart.

A dos window will appear with following.
DISKPART>

• Then type list volume

That will look like this one
Volume### Ltr Label Fs Type Size Status Info etc in a row and details   beneath.
Volume 0 F DC-ROM
Volume 1 C NTFS Partition 7000MB Healthy
Volume 2 D soft NTFS Partition 8000MB Healthy
Volume 3 E —- NTFS Partition 8000MB Healthy

• Now If you want to hide drive E then type select volume 3 and hit enter.

Then a message will appear in same windows {Volume 3 is the selected volume}

• Now type remove letter E

A message will appear the Diskpart Removed the Drive letter
Sometime it requires to reboot the system. And your E drive is vanished from sight.

Hidden Drive

Diskpart will remove the letter. Windows does not have the capability to identify the unknown volume.
Now you don’t be afraid. Your data in that drive will remain safe.
To revert changes, repeat the process . But now in the 4th step replace “remove” with “assign” which means type “assign letter E” then your drive will reappear again.
